Mental Health Legal Service - limited capacity until end of September

QAI will be running a reduced capacity Mental Health Legal Service until the end of September.

Clients are still welcome to contact QAI for an advice appointment in relation to mental health law, but should be aware:

  • there may be up to a 2 week wait for an advice appointment;
  • we will not be able to provide representation for new clients until October 2017;
  • we may be able to represent previous clients depending on their needs and QAI's capacity. 

Inpatients should try first speaking to the Independent Patient Rights Adviser for their health service to see if that resolves their issue. 

QAI advice and assistance in relation to non-mental health law matters will continue as usual.
