Are you a young person with disability with a message for the United Nations?

QAI is seeking Expressions of Interest from emerging young leaders with disability interested in attending the 15th Conference of States Parties (CoSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

Held online for the past two years, this year’s CoSP is scheduled to take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, from 14th to 16th June 2022.

CoSP is a wonderful opportunity for the international disability community to collectively share ideas and advocate for progressive implementation of the CRPD.

The involvement of people with disability is an important part of CoSP and QAI is committed to ensuring people with disability participate in and contribute meaningfully to CoSP.

If you are interested in attending CoSP as a delegate supported by QAI, and are a young person (aged 30 and under) with disability who lives in Queensland, please submit an Expression of Interest by Wednesday 2nd February 2022.

In your Expression of Interest, please include the following:

  • A resume/CV
  • A statement of no more than 300 words, outlining your interest in attending CoSP. You may wish to include how you would like to contribute to CoSP as well as what you would hope to take away from the experience.
  • Your preference in attending the conference online or in person

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please submit your Expressions of Interest to qai@qai.org.au by close of business on Wednesday 2nd February 2022.
