Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion (QAI) has made a submission on proposed NDIS support categories and new framework planning rules, highlighting practical concerns and unintended consequences for participants. While supporting clearer, more inclusive support categories, QAI recommends changes to protect participants’ choice and control, improve access to essential supports, ensure accurate assessments and provide greater flexibility in funding for respite, assistive technology and everyday needs. The submission calls for clearer rules, fairer assessment and review processes, and policies that uphold participants’ rights while supporting a safer, more efficient NDIS.
