Supported Accommodation Inquiry Support
Overview
Queensland Parliament are running an inquiry to find out what it is like to live in supported accommodation.
They will be looking at:
- How facilities are run and funded, and how much it costs a resident to live there.
- The services and support provided. This includes how they meet certain standards as well as the health, safety and well-being of residents.
- Ways National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funded supports fit with the services provided through a facility.
QAI have been funded to provide support for current and past residents of supported accommodation, to help them tell their stories and ideas to the inquiry.
What we do
We provide support to current and past residents of supported accommodation.
We will:
- Give residents information on the inquiry.
- Support residents to tell their story or ideas.
- Help link residents with supports or services.
In order to do this, we will be visiting supported accommodation facilities across Queensland, including during visits from the Committee. We will be able to speak to residents about the inquiry in either small group discussions, or one-on-one.
Who we assist
We are funded to support:

- Current and past residents of level 3 supported accommodation across Queensland.
Please note, anyone can make a submission to the inquiry.
The Committee wants to hear from:

- Current and past residents.
- Families of residents.
- Disability and community services supporting residents.
