QAI made a submission to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee on their inquiry into the Disability Support Pension (DSP) and its purpose, intent and adequacy.

QAI considers that the DSP in its current form has lost its purpose, is unreasonable in its eligibility criteria, fails to account for discrimination within the labour market, is inadequate in monetary value and fails to acknowledge the economic benefits of improved income support payments for people with disability.
